Nightly road closures planned for State Road 429

Central Florida Expressway Authority will have road closures on S.R. 429 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, March 22, to Friday, March 27, to work on the new State Road 516.

Drivers should be prepared for nightly road closures on State Road 429 as Central Florida Expressway Authority works on the new State Road 516. 

The closures will be from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, March 22, to Friday, March 27. 

Northbound S.R. 429 from Schofield Road (Exit 13) to New Independence Parkway (Exit 15) will be closed. Drivers will be directed to exit at Schofield Road and travel north on Avalon Road to New Independence Parkway.

Southbound S.R. 429 at Schofield Road also will be closed. Drivers will be directed to exit at Schofield Road and re-enter southbound S.R. 429 using the Schofield Road on ramp. 

The work is for the construction of the third segment of State Road 516. Work on the Lake/Orange Expressway began in May 2024 and is expected to conclude in mid-2027.
