The city of Ocoee is temporarily closing the Starke Lake Boat Ramp.

The boat ramp will be closed starting Monday, March 23, for renovations.

The project is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete.

The renovations include a replacement of all wooden boards with durable composite decking, which will match the material used at Unity Park and Wellness Park. It also includes a slight elevation increase to help prevent flooding during heavy or prolonged rain events as well as the installation of sheet piling beneath portions of the dock to reduce erosion and protect the ramp.

The city said in a Facebook post that the renovations "will enhance the dock's durability, safety, accessibility and overall appearance, while also creating a cleaner, brighter look."

"We appreciate your patience and look forward to reopening a better, more resilient boat dock for everyone to enjoy," the post said.
