Brookshire students shine

Four students at Brookshire Elementary School in Winter Park have received the highest honors in the Brookshire Elementary School Reflections Art Program.

The National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Reflections program is the PTA’s cornerstone arts program. It offers students the opportunity to earn local, state and even national recognition for original artwork they create in response to a specific theme.

This year’s entries reflect upon and interpret the theme: Believe, Dream, Inspire. In the “Visual Arts” category - Hope Hallett: “Mermaid” and Amanda Matherne: “Pumpkins in the Afternoon.” In the “Photography” category - Lucie Duggan: “A Walk in the Woods” and Chelsea Lewis: “Mommy’s Happy Sunset.” Of all who entered, nine student submissions were selected to proceed to the county level.
