The Independence community kicked of the Independence Day festivities with the Independence Firework Spectacular on June 2.
The festivities included a kids zone with games, a DJ, hula hoop competitions, food trucks and vendors. To celebrate, the neighborhood came out in their red, white and blue attire.
The evening ended with a fireworks display over Lake Hancock.
