WINDERMERE  Two auto burglaries occurred from late in the night May 15 to the early morning of May 16 within Windermere, but at opposite ends of the town, according to a report from Windermere Police Chief Dave Ogden.

Police seek information pertaining to a series of burglaries from unlocked vehicles on Horizon Circle and a broken-window break-in to a car in The Willows.

"At this time, we are still conducting our investigation and reviewing video footage, but we ask anyone with possible information to please contact the WPD," Ogden said. "It appears that other local jurisdictions may have had a few auto burglaries within close proximity to our town, as well. Our investigator is working our cases and will coordinate with any possible leads that we can share."

Ogden has asked for anyone who might have seen suspicious activity in the time and places mentioned to call Windermere police during normal business hours at (407) 876-3757 or Detective John Allen at (407) 909-5306.

"You can use the patrol line to speak with our officers at (321) 299-2414 for information that is not occurring at this time but may be relevant to the case," Ogden said. "As always, the best deterrent is to always lock your vehicles and to place valuable items out of view."
