Whether the guests wanted a do-over for their high school prom because the experience was awful or they wanted to have fun all over again — about 50 people donned suits and gowns for the Second Chance Prom, held Saturday, April 29, in downtown Winter Garden.
Guests were treated to food and drink, a silent auction, a “cheesy prom photo” and dance music provided by a disc jockey.
Hosted by Mindy Hungerford and Wendy Cooper, the “Night Under the Stars” event was a fundraiser to support their two-week mission trip to Uganda this summer. The pair are going to teach art to women and children abandoned by the AIDS crisis.
