Students performed a 4,000-year-old Indian dance called Bharathanatyam during Natyatharu Performing Arts School' s fourth annual recital.
The students of Natyatharu Performing Arts School had a recital on Sunday, Feb. 12 at Olympia High School.
During the recital, students performed classic Bharathanatyam and an Indian fusion dance.
On Sunday, Feb. 12, the students of the Natyatharu Performing Arts School donned traditional Indian dance costumes and painted their hands and feet for their fourth annual recital. The recital was held at Olympia High School and featured food from Chutneys Indian Restaurant.
During the recital, students danced a 4,000-year-old Indian dance called Bharathanatyam, which is an expressive, story-based dance with roots tied to Hindu faith. They also danced Indian fusion dances that consists of the Bharathanatyam steps without the added expressions.
