A packed silent auction, dance performances from local celebrities and even a “candy bar” helped make for a star-studded evening out at New Beginnings’s Dancing Under the Stars gala. Held at the Clermont Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Nov. 16, the event is the nonprofit’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Seven local “celebrities” were the heart of the evening’s entertainment, as they went head-to-head in a dance competition to compete for the Mirror Ball trophy. New Beginnings provides “a hand up, not a hand out” by connecting the homeless in Central Florida with resources and tools necessary to get back on their feet.
