The Society of St. Vincent de Paul held its 4th Annual Friends of the Poor 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake. More than 120 Walkers and runners received goodie bags upon completing the 5K. Attendees also enjoyed free food and treats and had to opportunity to purchase raffle tickets or participate in a silent auction. Raffle and auction items were donated by event sponsors. The Society of Vincent de Paul is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that provides services to those in need. Services include at-home visits, providing food via a food pantry at Holy Family Catholic Church and other assistance.
