ORANGE COUNTY October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Harbor House of Central Florida’s Signature Purple Door Luncheon — held this time of year annually — serves to share messages of hope and honor local Champions of Courage. This year’s event, held at the Rosen Centre on Wednesday, Oct. 17, included stories from two survivors of domestic violence. Additionally, the six Champions of Courage honored were: Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs, Bank of America, Orlando Police Department, The Zebra Coalition’s Heather Wilkie, Orange County Circuit Judge Alice Blackwell and Beverly Paulk.
