It was an evening of holiday cheer at the City of Ocoee’s Holiday Tree Lighting event on Saturday, Dec. 7. The event was held in downtown Ocoee at the city’s Lakeshore Center and at the Withers-Maguire House. Attendees got to enjoy rides, arts and crafts, roasting marshmallows, a gingerbread house decorating contest and live music performed by Ocoee High School band students. Santa and Mrs. Claus even made an appearance to hear what local children wanted for Christmas. The highlight of the evening was the tree-lighting ceremony led by the Ocoee City Commission in front of the Withers-Maguire House.
