OCPS Turns 150

Board members will first recognize Orange County Public Schools' 150-year anniversary. The district was established on Dec. 11, 1869, and the Board will proclaim Dec. 11, 2019, as a Day of Celebration for the 150th Anniversary of Orange County Public Schools.

In October 2018, OCPS awarded SchenkelShultz Architecture a design professional service contract for the Site 80-H-SW-4 high school relief project, located off Seidel Road in Horizon West. The board tonight will vote on whether to approve the completed  Phase III construction documents for the project. These documents are currently under review by the School Board’s Fire and Safety Compliance Office (FHS) and the Building Code Compliance Office (BCCO) to determine compliance with all relevant code requirements.

Approval of Phase III Regarding Various Schools Rubberized Track Capital Project

In October 2018, OCPS awarded Wharton Smith, Inc.  CM at Risk services contract for the Various Schools Rubberized Track Program District Capital Project (this includes Olympia, Dr. Phillips, West Orange and Ocoee high schools). This includes field events (high jump, pole vault, long jump, shot put and discus pads). The board will vote on whether to approve Wharton Smith's Phase III documents for years three and four of this project, which includes Dr. Phillips, West Orange and Ocoee high schools.
