BREAKING NEWS: Suspect arrested after murder in Ocoee

Pablo Jaimes has been arrested for the murder of Miguel Gonzalez outside Club Fenix.

A suspect is behind bars after a recent murder in Ocoee.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday, Dec. 11, that detectives have identified and arrested Pablo Jaimes, 18, in connection with the second-degree murder of 25-year-old Miguel Gonzalez Saturday, Dec. 7, at Club Fenix.

Jaimes has been taken to the Orange County Jail.

According to an official report, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding a shooting at 11:44 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Club Fenix, located at 2151 Ocoee Apopka Road.

A family was hosting a quinceañera at the venue when an unruly guest arrived and an argument started. Victim Miguel Gonzalez, a 25-year-old male, was escorting the suspect out of the event space when the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot him, according to the report.

Gonzalez was transported to Advent Health Apopka in critical condition and later air lifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
