The Maitland Art & History Museum’s celebrated two new exhibitions with a spirited reception on Wednesday, Jan. 24. The “Maitland and African American Experiences Then & Now: J. André Smith and Jane Turner” and “Maitland and African American Experiences: Marked, Unmarked, Remembered” highlight African-American experiences and are on display at the Maitland Art Center and the Maitland Historical Museum, respectively. Guests took in the art and listened to presentations from the exhibit’s artists and creators themselves.
