The Winter Garden Planning and Zoning Board will meet tonight, June 3, at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 300 W. Plant St., to decide on the zoning for a potential hotel in the downtown district and other projects.

The City of Winter Garden submitted an application to the Planning and Zoning Board to rezone 8 North Highland Ave. from residential to a Planned Commercial Development (PCD) zone. This would allow for the potential sale to JA Hospitality LLC and development of a three-story, 60-room boutique hotel.

A first reading by the City Commission of the hotel proposal is scheduled for June 13.

The board will also address other applications to rezone properties on Tildenville School Road and West Colonial Drive to PCD properties.

Originally on the agenda for the meeting was an application by 7-Eleven Inc. for a special permit to build a convenience store at 1504 Avalon Road. The application was withdrawn.

The next Planning and Zoning Board meeting will be Monday July 8 at 6:30 p.m.
