OCSO searching for missing person in Winter Garden

Sheriff deputies were looking at a property on Pennsylvania Avenue Monday afternoon.

Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Office were in Winter Garden all afternoon Monday, Nov. 11, in connection with a missing-persons case. They were at a property on Pennsylvania Avenue after receiving a tip about the case of Jerilynn Handley, who was reported missing in 2017.

"Detectives did not locate anything at the scene and are clearing the area," according to a Sheriff's Office statement released Monday around 6 p.m. "However this is still active investigation. "We never stop looking for missing people and encourage anyone with more information regarding the whereabouts of Handley to please contact Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS."

There are no more details that can be released at this time, as the investigation is active and ongoing, according to a Sheriff's Office statement.
