Tonight's Winter Garden Commission meeting will include a potential site plan approval for a new apartment complex, as well as the first reading of two ordinances that could result in new medical office buildings and a church on Winter Garden Vineland Road.

According to the Jan. 9 meeting agenda, ordinances 20-07 and 20-08 pertain to a 5.51-acre property at 541 Winter Garden Vineland Road. The ordinances, if eventually approved, would amend the property's Future Land Use Designation to Commercial and rezone the property to Planned Commercial Development.

City documents state that the proposed project includes two medical office buildings totaling 45,000 square feet, as well as a 10,477-square-foot church. Additional improvements include parking, landscaping and stormwater ponds.

The second reading and public hearing for these two ordinances is scheduled for the Jan. 23 commission meeting.

Additionally, commissioners will decide whether to approve the site plan for Alta Winter Garden. This project proposes constructing five new, three-story multi-family buildings on 14.87 acres at North West Crown Point Road. These buildings would feature a combined 250 dwelling units. Te project includes eight linear garage buildings adjacent to 400 uncovered surface parking spaces, along with recreation areas, sidewalks and landscaping.

The applicant also would develop the land to the west of the train track as a park and dedicate it to the city, documents show.

The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. at Winter Garden's City Hall. To view the full agenda, click here.
