Shepard's Hope will receive a $3 million endowment grant from the West Orange Healthcare District.
Shepard's Hope, a non-profit organization that "provides free medical care, education and wellness programs to uninsured families across Central Florida," according to their website, has earned nearly $5 million in funding from the district since 2013.
“This incredible endowment secures Shepherd’s Hope’s presence as a servant of those in need in west Orange County,” said Shepherd’s Hope President & CEO Pam Gould in the announcement. “It allows us to continue serving the health and wellness needs of vulnerable populations here, and also gives us the ability to plan for meeting the growing needs of our community in more innovative, creative ways.”
In the non-profits 24-year history, this grant will be the largest they have ever received.
According to a press release from the West Orange Chamber of Commerce, Shepard's Hope plans to use the funding to enable the organization to focus on more long-term education and healthy community initiatives.
