The Bloom & Grow Garden Society had perfect spring weather Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7, for its annual Spring Fever in the Garden festival in downtown Winter Garden. Booths full of blooming flowers, bushes and trees, as well as windchimes, pottery and other garden items. Food trucks, a kid zone and lively music rounded out the weekend.
The winners of the Chalkin’ it Up! chalk art contest were announced as well:
• Elementary Individual — Adelyn Holubeck (bird and tulip)
• Elementary Group — Yasmine Makron (turtle with blue background)
• Middle School Individual — Beckett Lemieux (mushroom and mouse)
• Middle School Group — Eliana and Sabrina Koestner (girl with flower)
• High School Individual — Liberty Brooks (spoonbill)
• High School Group — Florida Film Academy (fairy band)
• Adult Individual — Janet Tombros (parrot with hat)
• Adult Group — Audrey Allen and Zoe Farr (tiger looking through leaves)
• Family Group — Elizabeth, Matt and William Frazier (fish and dragonfly)
• People’s Choice — first place, Jack and Peyton Cottle (gator stack); second place, Doug Holubek (pheasant and face)
• Best in Show: first place, Kaitlin Roney (bear and rabbit); second place, Natalie Diaz (big bunny); third place, Savannah Deutsch (toucan)
