Plant expert presenting book talk about edible nature

Peggy Sias Lantz will speak this Wednesday, Jan. 24, at WGHF's Heller Hall in downtown Winter Garden.

Author and historian Peggy Sias Lantz will be in downtown Winter Garden Wednesday, Jan. 24, for a book signing and special presentation about Florida’s edible plants.

Lantz has written many books on the state’s native plant life, and copies will be available for purchasing and signing. She also is a prolific writer of children’s books describing the wonders of Florida’s nature to young readers.

Lantz is presenting her program at 6:30 p.m. at the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation’s Heller Hall, 21 E. Plant St. For information, call (407) 656-3244.

Community Editor Amy Quesinberry was born at the old West Orange Memorial Hospital and raised in Winter Garden. Aside from earning her journalism degree from the University of Georgia, she hasn’t strayed too far from her hometown and her three-mile bubble.
