Roots and Memories: Celebrating Día de los Muertos

Healthy West Orange Arts and Heritage Center is hosting a celebration of Mexican culture from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at 126 Petris Ave., Oakland.

Healthy West Orange Arts and Heritage Center is celebrating Día de los Muertos Friday, Sept. 12, with live music, dancing, light refreshments and the launch of the center’s latest exhibit; Raices y Recuerdos, Roots & Memories. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet artists displaying their work, learn about this celebration and enjoy artists’ Luis Lefty and Mexico Lindo Orlando performance. 

There also will be an Ofrenda alter, where attendees can take a moment to remember their loved ones who passed away. 

The exhibit will be displayed until Nov. 1.
