The First Academy baseball team's head coach Alan Kunkel took the helm of the program in June 2024.

Two seasons later, he celebrated his 250th career win during TFA's 3-2 win over Apopka High Wednesday, April 8. Last year he led the baseball team to the Class 2A Regional Finals and now the team holds a 16-9 record. Kunkel came to TFA from the University of South Florida, where he served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the baseball team.

Following the win over Apopka, TFA topped West Orange High 10-8 Thursday, April 9. The Royals now look toward its 2A District 6 Semifinal home game against Foundation Academy at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16.
