The town of Windermere recently conducted an on-site tree walk for the Ward Trail & Pedestrian Bridge to finalize tree removals and preservation along the project alignment.

Yellow ribbons along the trail signify trees to be preserved.

Red and pink tape along the trail signify trees to be removed.

"The walkthrough was led by the chair of the town’s Tree Board and reflects months of collaborative review, site analysis and coordination by the full Tree Board to identify opportunities to preserve as much tree canopy as possible while advancing this important community connectivity project," the town said in a Facebook post.

Tree and grubbing work for the project is estimated to begin in February.
