The Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital announced it received a Joint Commission's certification for disease-specific care regarding total shoulder replacement.

“We’re excited to bring this elite level of orthopedic care to Horizon West and nearby communities,” said Dr. Jacob Cox, an orthopedic surgeon with Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. “This designation shows that we are committed to following the latest evidence-based practices and safety protocols to ensure great outcomes for our patients who need a shoulder replacement.”

According to the press release, only 10 other hospitals in the state have been awarded this designation.

The hospital also recently received a certification regarding knee and hip replacement.
