Windermere High School head baseball coach Eric Lassiter was named Metro West Coach of the Year and Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 11 7A Coach of the Year.

"Anytime you are named coach of the year, really just shows the great commitment the players have shown, and how good our assistants are," he wrote. "To me it's a program award. To be named coach of the year, you have to have great players, great coaches and great support from the parents. And that's what we had and look to continue to have moving forward."

Lassiter led the Wolverines through a 25-4 overall season.
