Many years ago, the city of Ocoee staged an annual Halloween festival. A parade began on Taylor Street and processed across the railroad tracks, east onto McKey Street and then south on Bluford Avenue to the Ocoee School’s football field. Classes 1 through 12 presented games and treats at carnival booths, and merrymakers could ride around the school building on the fire truck. The photograph features revelers at a 1960s parade, no doubt hoping to win a prize for best costume. If you can identify these costumed locals, call the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation at (407) 656-3244.
