NOV. 11

LICENSE-LESS

17000 block of West Colonial Drive. Driving without a license. An officer stopped a driver not wearing a seat belt. The driver showed his Honduras ID and said he had no license, once arrested in a neighboring county for that offense. Officers cited him for both offenses and then transported him to jail on a charge of being a repeat offender of driving without a valid license. The vehicle was towed.

NOV. 22

OUT OF CONTROL

400 block of Herriott Avenue. Kidnapping. Officers responded to a call at about 11:40 p.m. regarding an assault and kidnapping. The complainant told officers two females among three suspects had pushed her away and demanded she refrain from contacting police before beating and dragging her physically impaired son to a car. Officers found the son’s phone on the ground and then saw a vehicle quickly reverse and leave the area, so they conducted a felony stop. The suspects complied with commands at gunpoint and were under arrest. The victim received transport to South Lake Hospital, where he told officers he had been beaten and threatened at knifepoint during a ride from Polk County in the same car. The two female suspects said the victim had been aiding them in locating a mutual friend who had struck and abandoned them from Polk County. They denied hitting anyone, as did the male suspect, who said he was just trying to calm and end the situation. They said they had no intentions of letting the situation get out of hand.
