Ocoee Police called the Department of Children and Family to investigate a family of six children squatting in an Ocoee home without water or power and filled with cockroaches and feces, according to reports.

Police arrested the children's father, DaQuan N. Smith, 35; mother, Eboni S. Tucker-Smith, 32; and grandmother, Delthy A. Graham, 50, on charges of child neglect Thursday. There was also an outstanding warrant on Tucker-Smith for perjury.

Officers entered the home upon procuring a search warrant Thursday, after Duke Energy officials reported on Tuesday that they had cut power to the house for unpaid utility bills costing thousands of dollars. The officers found dog feces throughout the house, toilets full of feces and trash outside and inside.

Children slept in beds with mold, rust, rotting food and dog feces on them, police said.

A broken bedroom window seemed to be where occupants tossed food waste into the backyard, and the refrigerator, which did not fully shut, had roaches in it.

Garbage bags filled the backyard, with rotten food, roaches and rodents in them, police said.

Police said the family had stolen water from a neighbor's home, as well.

A family member took custody of the children.
