LAKELAND The Foundation Academy football team jumped out to a 21-0 lead Nov. 18 against host Victory Christian, but would ultimately not hold that advantage in the FHSAA Class 2A, Region 2 Championship.
The Lions led 21-7 at halftime but were outscored by that same margin in the second, with regulation ending with the game tied at 28-28.
In overtime, the Storm received the ball first and scored while a turnover ended the Lions subsequent possession, giving Victory Christian the 35-28 victory.
Jaquane Patterson (81-yard kickoff return and 41-yard rush) and Corey Rahman (3-yard rush and 50-yard interception return) each had two touchdowns for Foundation Academy, which finished the season with a 7-4 record.
