Olympia cross country turns in strong performance in DeLand

The Titans boys varsity and junior varsity teams placed first.

The Olympia High boys varsity cross country team won first place this past weekend at the DeLand Invitational. 

Sophomore O'Neel Occenat led the way for the victorious Titans, placing ninth in the race. Senior captain Ethan Hood set a person record of 17:57.20. John Hinkle, another senior captain, was the third-best finisher for Olympia with a time of 18:09.80.

The Titans boys junior varsity team was also victorious, topping second-place finisher Lake Highland Prep by 18 points.

Olympia's girls team also fared well, finishing in sixth place. Diana Perez was the top finisher for the Titans with a time of 22:31.90 — good for 29th place. The Olympia girls junior varsity team placed third as a team.
