Foundation Academy places five on Class 2A All-State team -- Observer Preps

A breakout season for the Foundation Academy football program was reflected when the Associated Press Class 2A All-State team was announced.

WINTER GARDEN The Foundation Academy football program received a feather in its cap for what was a breakout season in 2016 with the announcement of the Associated Press Class 2A All-State football team.

After a season that saw Foundation go 7-5 and advance to the regional championship, a total of five Lions were named either to the First or Second team.

Jaquane Patterson, running back (senior) —1,220 rushing yards, 16 total touchdowns

First Team Defense

Evan Thompson, linebacker (senior) — 110 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 6 fumbles recovered

Chaz Cannon, punter (senior) — 36.5 average yards per punt, 49 longest punt

Eddie Loos, offensive lineman (junior) — 63 total tackles

Second Team Defense 

Cory Rahman, defensive back (senior) — 7 interceptions, 48 tackles, 4 touchdowns
