Orange County deputies investigating weekend homicide near Ocoee

Yulon Jasen Wallace, 35, was found dead on the shores of Lake Florence near Ocoee Sunday, March 19.

ORANGE COUNTY  Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning at Lake Florence off Good Homes Road near Ocoee.

Deputies responded to a call at 12:21 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, regarding a man down after a group of teenagers saw the victim lying on the shores of the lake. Upon arrival deputies discovered 35-year-old Yulon Jasen Wallace unresponsive and not breathing.

Orange County Fire Rescue arrived and pronounced Wallace dead at the scene.

The teenagers who found Wallace said they had seen the body earlier in the morning and thought it might have been someone sleeping, but notified their parents when they were in the area again later in the day and saw Wallace still there.

Homicide and Forensics came to the scene, OCSO said, and began the homicide investigation. Deputies have not said how Wallace died.
