Public Hearing: Preliminary Site Plan for Ocoee Business Park

Tonight, the Ocoee City Commission will permit a public hearing pertaining to the preliminary large-scale site plan for a 44.12-acre project named Ocoee Business Park. The applicant for the project proposes to develop the land with a light industrial/flex office park consisting of three warehouse buildings totaling a maximum of 646,366 square feet. The permitted uses of the buildings will be limited to light manufacturing and warehousing. Two access points to the site will be from Maguire Road and a third access point is proposed on the northern property line. City staff has recommended approval of the preliminary site plan.

Second Reading: Prohibiting Medical Marijuana Treatment Center Dispensaries

Tonight, commissioners will see an ordinance that proposes to ban permitting for Medical Marijuana Treatment Center Dispensaries from the city's limits. According to city documents, the ordinance was drafted in response to a Senate Bill the state Legislature adopted in June which establishes two options for local governments when it comes to banning or permitting Medical Marijuana Treatment Center Dispensaries. The two options are to either ban the facilities outright or give up the chance to regulate the number of facilities that may be permitted and their location.

Any residents with questions or concerns may contact Ocoee City Hall at (407) 905-3100.
