Two Winter Park residents were arrested this month following a prostitution sting by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and other police agencies, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Jared Rachko, 18, was arrested for reportedly soliciting a prostitute while Sarah Smith, 31, was arrested for reportedly offering to commit prostitution. There was no indication that the arrests were related.

It was all part of a sting called “Operation No Tricks, No Treats,” which ran from Tuesday, Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 15. Police officers placed ads online posing as prostitutes and responded to ads found online posted by prostitutes.

The sting resulted in the arrest of 277 suspects. Fifty-one of those arrests were suspects who reportedly advertised as prostitutes online, while 209 of the arrests were those who reportedly solicited undercover detectives who posed as prostitutes online. Seventeen other arrests were those who reportedly derived money from prostitution, or other offenses.
