Winter Garden Commission meeting set for Feb. 8

The Winter Garden Commission will see the first readings for two ordinances related to rezoning requests. One rezoning would pave the way for an 18.25-acre commercial development.

First Reading: Rezoning of 1.25 acres of property

The commission will see the first reading of two ordinances, (Ordinance 17-22 and 17-23), that seek to rezone and change the Future Land-Use Designations of four properties located north of Plant Street, south of West Bay Street and west of North Central Avenue. The properties are currently a mixture of vacant land and single-family homes. These two ordinances would change the Future Land-Use Designation of the properties located at 304, 310, 314 West Bay Street and 439, 455 West Plant Street to Traditional Downtown and rezone the properties located at 304, 310, 314 West Bay Street and 295, 311, 439, 455 West Plant Street from Residential District and  to Planned Commercial Development. The second reading is scheduled for Feb. 22.

 

First Reading: Rezoning of 14120 and 14230 West Colonial Drive

City leaders will vote on the first reading of a rezoning request detailed in Ordinance 18-09 for an 18.25-acre property abutting West Colonial Drive. The applicant wishes to rezone the properties at 14120 and 14230 West Colonial Drive from Arterial Commercial District to Planned Commercial Development to develop the site with 84,500 square feet of commercial space, which would including retail, office, and restaurant uses. The commercial center, which is being developed by Gardenia Plaza, LLC, is named West Market. The second reading is scheduled for Feb. 22.
