OAKLAND The earlier rains took the edge off the heat for a beautiful evening Saturday, May 12, during Oakland Nature Preserve’s Night at the Preserve. The preserve’s third annual event is one of its biggest fundraisers, and proceeds support its continued work. Guests mingled and indulged in heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts, as well as wine and beer selections. They were also treated to live music, raffles and a lakeside champagne toast at sunset.
