East Sixth Avenue. Resisting an officer. At about 12:22 a.m., a Windermere police officer responded to the area of Main Street and East Sixth Avenue in reference to a request for backup from a fellow officer who had pulled over a vehicle. While the backup officer attempted to search the passenger for anything illegal, the passenger fled on foot. The officer gave chase at first and ordered the male passenger to stop running, but the passenger did not comply. The officer then pursued him using his patrol vehicle, but the officer lost sight of the passenger until he heard yelling coming from a residential backyard on Forest Street. The fellow officer had located the runaway passenger and used a taser on him. Once the passenger was handcuffed, officers found a baggie containing cannabis in his possession. The officers also discovered the passenger had an active warrant out of Orange County for violation of probation for assault with a deadly weapon.
