Orange County property appraiser extends surveys deadline

The Orange County Property Appraiser's office has extended the deadline for income and expense surveys for commercial property.

Orange County Property Appraiser Rick Singh made the announcement April 1 in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Income and expense surveys are documents used in the process of determining assessments of commercial properties. The deadline has been extended from mid-April to May 29.

“This is a challenging time for commercial property owners,” Singh said. “Things are changing daily, and none of us is sure when we will return to ‘normal.’ We want to help Orange County taxpayers with additional time to meet deadlines so they can deal with more immediate challenges first.”

The extension is automatically granted to all filers, and the surveys can be filed online or via mail. For 2020, they also can be filed via email to [email protected].

"Singh and his team continue to wish the community well in these trying times," OCPA staff wrote in a press release. "The entire team is in place – though remotely – to assist Orange County taxpayers."

The property appraiser's office is closed to visitors, but citizens can call the office any time from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
