The Dr. Phillips competitive cheer team just keeps on winning, as the Panthers dominated at their regional — held at Hudson High School Saturday, Jan. 18 — to bring home first place.

Competing in the all-girls small division the Panthers showed off their skills on the mat, as they cheered and flipped their way to an impressive score of 79.55 — good enough for first place. By scoring over a 70, Dr. Phillips also sealed up a spot in the FHSAA state final at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on the campus of the University of Florida, which takes place Saturday, Feb. 1.

The win was the second in just three days, as back on Thursday, Jan. 16, the Panthers took first at the Metro Championships.

With a week-and-a-half left before states, the Panthers — who have finished runner-up three times (2015, 2018, 2019) in the last five years — will ready themselves for their biggest competition of the season.
