A new subdivision soon will be in the works in Horizon West's Village I following approval from county leaders.

Orange County commissioners approved the preliminary subdivision plan June 23 for the Lake Mac Planned Development. Located on roughly 42.43 acres west of Avalon Road and south of Flemmings Road, the subdivision will include 124 single-family attached and detached homes.

Also during the meeting, county leaders approved three requests for shoreline alterations within the town of Windermere. One pertains to a property on Main Street facing the Fischer Canal, while the other two properties are located on Kelso Boulevard and backing up to Lake Butler.

Additionally, commissioners discussed two requests pertaining to the O-Town Boardwalk property and Hannah Smith Property Planned Development in Dr. Phillips. Applicant Jim Hall, owner of the 7.09-acre O-Town Boardwalk tract in question, requested an out-of-cycle, small-scale development future land-use map amendment and a concurrent substantial change request.

The approved future land-use map amendment now includes 314,000 square feet of office space as an allowable use on Tract 4 of the Hannah Smith PD land-use plan.
