UPDATE: Restaurants are no longer allowed to open their dining rooms to eat-in service, but they may continue curbside pick-up and delivery.

The West Orange business organization is working with local eateries that are chamber members to let customers know of the latest changes to menus; establishment hours; and the best way to have your food ordered, picked up or delivered.
Per the governor’s executive order, restaurants within the city can sell alcohol for onsite consumption but must limit their occupancy to 50% of current building occupancy, ensure at least a 6-foot distance between any groups of patrons and limit parties to no more than 10.
The chamber issued a release Wednesday, March 18: “Uber Eats said Monday it will waive delivery fees for all orders from independently owned restaurants on the app as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread and causes cities to shutter all non-essential businesses. Customers can find independent restaurants by looking for the EAT LOCAL banner in the app. Delivery Fees will be automatically waived on all applicable orders.
“Door Dash is also waiving delivery fees right now. DoorDash also confirmed that it has set the default delivery option to ‘no contact.’
“Grubhub announced that they are deferring commission fees for many restaurants, so more of your money goes straight to them now.”
