Town of Windermere offers virtual town hall meeting updates on coronavirus
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the Town of Windermere is looking to keep residents up-to-date by going virtual.
The town will be holding a virtual town hall meeting regarding coronavirus updates — which will include a Q&A session — starting Thursday, March 26, at 2:30 p.m. The meetings will run daily — including Saturdays and Sundays — until its conclusion Wednesday, April 1.
To join in visit zoom.us — there you’ll be asked to sign up for free and download the Zoom app. Once downloaded you will enter the meeting ID (330 790 277) and the password (303857). Alternately, you can call in using 301 715 8592 — the meeting ID is the same as above.

Orange County Library System suspends home delivery services
Following the signing of a county-wide “Stay at Home” order by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings Tuesday, March 24, to slow the spread of the coronavirus, the Orange County Library System announced it would be suspending home delivery services Thursday, March 26.
All 16 library locations were closed to the public back on Wednesday, March 18, but the recently signed executive order halts all non-essential services — which includes OCLS' delivery service — starting Thursday night.
Customers who recently utilized the program can check the status of requested materials by logging into their account on ocls.info. If the item is checked out to the cardholder, then it is in route, but some materials will not be processed until the service becomes available again, stated OCSL in a press release.
Despite the circumstances, OCSL still offers several digital options — including ebooks and audiobooks, live online classes, streaming TV and movies, music downloads, et cetera — to library cardholders.
4 Rivers launches pop-up grocery marketplace
With many everyday essentials having become a scarce resource at traditional retailers, 4 Rivers Smokehouse and The COOP have come up with an alternative.
On Thursday, March 26, 4R Restaurant Group launched Groceries 4R You, "an affordable grocery marketplace that offers consumers access to a limited list of hard-to-find items at 4 Rivers Smokehouses and The COOP during the COVID-19 pandemic," according to a press release.
4R Restaurant Group recognized the need to provide people with essential food, kitchen and hygiene items that have been hard to find due to the coronavirus pandemic, and it decided to offer the communities it serves another option.
Groceries 4R You is offering paper towels, toilet paper, disposable plates, ground beef, chicken breasts, half chickens, spaghetti, black beans, white rice, milk, beer and more while supplies last. Additionally, 4 Rivers products such as BBQ sauces, rubs and jerky will be available.
Products can be ordered online at 4 Rivers' website and The COOP's website, or through the 4 Rivers app.
“More so than ever before, providing a safe and healthy environment for our guests and team members remains our top priority," said John Rivers, founder and CEO of 4R Restaurant Group. "The launch of Groceries 4R You creates a safe, one-stop-shop for our guests to pick up essentials from the convenience of their car.”
Products will be available daily during normal business hours at The COOP in Winter Park and all 4 Rivers restaurants, except the downtown Orlando location, through the new pop-up, drive-thru tents.
