The City of Ocoee will celebrate a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to officially welcome Unity Park into the community at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10.

The park, located at 130 North Cumberland Ave., Ocoee, is the first of its kind in Ocoee. According to a press release, "It provides a scenic environment for residents to enjoy while also serving as a space to naturally treat and store stormwater runoff."

The name "Unity Park" represents the efforts Ocoee has made over the years to create a welcoming and diverse community that is open to all cultures and ethnicities.

In addition to the grand opening of the park, Ocoee will celebrate its 100-year "Town of Ocoee" anniversary, given that it was recognized as a municipality by the Florida legislature in 1923.
