Eight Waves is asking the community for its help in locating the nonprofit's stolen van.

The van was reported to be stolen last week from the West Orange Dream Center, 1136 E. Plant St., Winter Garden, when it was closed for the holidays.

A police report has been filed with the Winter Garden Police Department.

"Our hearts are heavy today as we learned that our van was stolen," Sara Meyer, Eight Waves founder and executive director, said. "This van has been a tremendous help to our organization and plays a vital role in safely transporting children to our free after-school tutoring and reading programs. ... We are a small, nonprofit organization trying hard to truly help local students, and (we are) requesting the community’s help!"

The van is a soft blue, 2000 Ford Ecoline with the license plate number AQ26TU.

Any information should be reported directly to the WGPD.
