Windermere High School has become the first school in the University of Central Florida's K-12 Knighthon Program to raise over half a million dollars, despite being younger than most of the surrounding programs.

The Wolverines raised $77,702.82 at the annual dance marathon event, which was held Saturday, March 2, in the school’s gymnasium.

Students spent 11 hours on their feet and dancing to help raise funds and spread awareness for the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital, which treats children from the area and provides critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services for children and their families.

In addition, 29 students hit “comma club," meaning they raised over $1,000 each.

The school also hit a record number of clubs and teams who participated in the event.
