The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced its newest worship center in Winter Garden.

The 17,000-square-foot center will house four local congregations and serve as the headquarters for nearly 4,000 members in 13 congregations across the West Orange County area.

Construction began on the building in February 2022 and was completed in March of this year.

“We are so thankful for the newly constructed church building, and we are excited to welcome our community to come and enjoy seeing the completed project," President Gary Hansen, who oversees the 13 local congregations that are part of the Orlando West area, said.

Local faith, nonprofit and community leaders will join the Church of Jesus Christ for a community reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 3, at 3850 Avalon Road, Winter Garden.

At the event, local church leaders will give short tours and share brief comments about the different organizations and offerings of the new church building.

The reception is open to the public, and all are welcome. Admission is free,  and light refreshments will be served.
