Korbin Sanqui, a fifth-grader at Castleview Elementary School, wasn't sure he had the talent or the interest to audition for the school's Drama Club.
But in his last year of elementary school, he decided to give it a chance. And he landed the lead role as Shrek in the school's production of "Shrek the Musical Jr."
Sanqui encouraged other students to audition for the musical as they might discover talents they didn't know they had.
For fifth-graders Jaylen Sanchez, who played Lord Farquaad, and Lincoln Lund-Johnson, who played Donkey, the musical was an opportunity to play characters they said were fitting of their personalities.
Helena Caliman, who played Fiona, said she loved being able to express a range of emotion in the musical, making the audience laugh, cry and feel happy.
