Get Shorti: Grand opening for Ocoee Wawa set for May 1

The new gas station and convenience store on the corner of West Colonial Drive and Clarke Road will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony with free coffee and T-shirts for first 100 customers.

The new Wawa gas station and convenience store in Ocoee, on the corner of W Colonial Dr. and Clarke Road, will open its doors Thursday, May 1.  

To celebrate the chain's newest location, the first 100 customers will receive a free T-shirt and coffee of any size, while supplies last. Festivities for the grand opening begin at 7:45 a.m. with the countdown to the doors opening at 8 a.m. and the giveaways commencing. Shortly after, at 8:30 a.m., customers are invited to participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new store. 

As part of the celebration, the Wawa mascot, Wally Goose, will be on site for photo opportunities and members of the Ocoee Police and Fire Rescue Departments will participate in a hoagie building competition. 

The event will be held at the new Wawa location on 9729 W Colonial Dr. in Ocoee.
