Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Mike Crabb as the new District 2 representative on the Orange County Board of County Commissioners.
The appointment, which was announced Friday, July 31, comes weeks before Crabb will be on the ballot with four other candidates for the District 2 seat in the Tuesday, Aug. 18, primary election.
The other candidates vying to represent District 2 are Kamia Brown, Wes Hodge, George Oliver III and Marsha Summersill.
The District 2 seat was vacant as a result of Christine Moore resigning in April to run for the mayor of Apopka.
