Horizon High senior earns national speech and debate award

The National Speech & Debate Association recognized Camila Barbosa as one of the top 1% of students nationwide.

Camila Barbosa, a student at Horizon High School, was recognized among the top 1% nationwide with the Academic All-American Award from the National Speech & Debate Association.

Horizon High School senior Camila Barbosa has earned the Academic All-American Award from the National Speech & Debate Association.

The award recognizes Barbosa’s academic excellence, competitive speech and debate success, and overall character.

According to Horizon High, fewer than 1% of the association’s 141,000 members receive this honor each year, placing Barbosa among the top student performers in the country. Horizon High celebrated the accomplishment with pride in a post on Facebook stating, "Pursuit elevated! We are proud of you!"
